Even in 2024, key figures of the psychedelic movement like 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗵𝘆 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘆 and 𝗥𝗮𝗺 𝗗𝗮𝘀𝘀 are considered core pillars of human consciousness development. Despite 𝘀𝘂𝗯𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗺 and scientific exile, their 𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘀 are 𝘀𝘆𝗻𝗼𝗻𝘆𝗺𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗽𝘀𝘆𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘀. One cannot ignore their impact on the progress of psychedelic research. Most importantly, they knew exactly 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝘀𝘆𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗹: racism and the counterculture movement.
In The New York Times psychedelics are bing discussed more frequently, signaling their 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗻𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, at least in the United States. Once they become 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗴𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗱 on a national level in the USA, we may witness a new narrative shift. With streaming services like Netflix, all it would take to change global perception is an 𝗮𝗹𝗴𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗺 𝘁𝘄𝗲𝗮𝗸 to promote "How to Change Your Mind" as a top documentary worldwide. After half a year of this, the world will never be the same.
Questions like “𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝘀𝘆𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁?” will become the most searched queries on all search engines and AI platforms. Once the 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝘂𝘁 of the bottle, people will rush for 𝗽𝘀𝘆𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗰-𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗽𝘆, which shows 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗶𝘀𝗲 and 𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗰𝘆, especially compared to the almost traditional use of antidepressants. 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 remain challenges, but once addressed, humanity will take an evolutionary step forward in the development of the mind. This isn't some new age vision; it's 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲 and 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱.
Entheogens are 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝗻𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿s. They highlight what has always been with us. They foster 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝘅𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘀, and 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁 us with nature, community, and most importantly, ourselves. This connection has been lost over the last 150 years. The next stage isn't about going back to our roots but advancing and rebuilding that lost connection.
The great alarm clock is about to go off…
